My snow escapades also included ‘making a snow fort’ but actually loosing motivation and ending up with a snow chair. Lets all make sure to take it easy this holiday season!

My dream of a white Christmas became quite the reality this year. Since Sunday night its been snowing non-stop in my quaint hometown of Moscow Idaho. For me that means throwing snowballs for my snow-crazed springer spaniel.

My final project was to do a photo story in six pictures. I traveled to beautiful Seattle to document Bill and Natalie Handy, a couple living on a houseboat on Lake Union.

Lake Union in Seattle Washington is a freshwater lake that is surrounded by the backdrop of Seattle. Nestled on the North end of the lake is Dunatos boatyard. It includes a full-service boat repair yard and a marina for residents of Lake Union to park their vessels. Seen all around the lake are various sizes of houseboats and floating homes. Among these ships is the home of Bill Handy, 77. He has been living on Lake Union for 26 years and his most current residence is his live-aboard boat the ‘Handy Too’.  Bill and his wife Natalie, 76 have lived on this boat for 14 years after they replaced their first boat ‘Handy’ in 1998.

Taking a much needed dead week study break and listening to my favorite dj, The Woz, play some pleasing audio vibrations on her weekly radio show, ladies night.

I hope everyone is managing to stay sane and happy this week!

This week’s assignment was to illustrate a news story.
I chose to illustrate a story about California’s new experiment to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, a California company called Sierra Energy is working to convert garbage into clean diesel fuel or energy. Interested? Read on!  View Larger

Kyle Burt and Ian Fisk peddle down the court during bike polo club’s weekly meet up. Kyle is known as ‘the speedster’ and Ian is identified by his ability to play on a unicycle.
This week I got to experiment with capturing motion. I loved hanging out with bike polo club and shooting their rowdy escapades. There was tea, great music, sportsmanship and a handful of wipeouts! Might even try my hand at the sport next week if I’m not too busy documenting.  View Larger
